Publishing & Broadcasting Limited (PBL) has had a legal victory. PBL owns the Nine TV network in Australia. On 29 April 2005, a judge granted PBL the right to see some important documents. PBL can now scrutinise any agreement made by rival broadcasters to bid for the rights to televise Australian Football League (AFL) matches from 2007. Earlier, the Seven Network and the Ten Network teamed up to bid for the rights to televise AFL matches between 2007 and 2011. The judge hearing the case said that the relevant documents could be related to a broader legal case launched by the Seven Network. It has taken legal action over the failure of its pay TV group, C7.
