Australian discount airline, Jetstar, plans to reduce costs to compensate for high fuel prices. CEO, Alan Joyce, said that Jetstar benefited from fuel hedging by its parent, Qantas. However, greater containment of costs would also be necessary. Joyce said that Jetstar's move to international services was proceeding. It will operate flights to New Zealand by the end of 2005. It will also consider co-operation with Jetstar Asia, which will be started by Qantas in 2005.
