The New South Wales (NSW) Supreme Court has ruled that Racing NSW has no authority to interfere with horse racing broadcasts. The judgment by Justice Patricia Bergin, delivered on 3 May 2005, states that Racing NSW has no legal power to tell Sydney racing clubs how to allocate their broadcast rights. The decision means that from 4 May NSW punters will no longer be able to watch Sydney or Victorian racing on Tabcorp-owned Sky Channel.
