Private equity investments stand ground.

Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2005

May 13, 2005 (Investor Weekly - ABIX via COMTEX)

Three quarters of superannuation funds in Australia still consider private equity an alternative asset class. This is according to survey of 40 funds undertaken in late 2004 and early 2005 by the University of New South Wales and sponsored by Adveq Management in Zurich. Funds aimed for weightings in private equity investments of around 4.5 per cent. Australian private equity assets were popular as were fund of fund options. The researchers believe the results would have been different if the survey had been conducted after the start of the super choice of fund regime in July 2005.
