While drought conditions are predicted to continue in most of Australia, Western Australia (WA) has received good autumn rainfall. Colin Tutt, operations GM at WA- based grain trading co-operative CBH, says the 2005-06 crop may be as large as 16 million tonnes, beating the 2003-04 high of 14.7 million tonnes. As well as the wheatbelt area, the pastoral landholders further north, which had been suffering under drought for some time, have also received good falls, with feed for sheep expected to grow well in the coming weeks.
