Direct marketing block recommended.
Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2005

The Australian Government should think about setting up a register of consumers who do not want to be approached by direct marketers. So believes the Australian Privacy Commissioner, Karen Curtis. She has also called for more powers so that direct marketers who breach privacy laws can be subjected to "enforceable remedies". The Australian Direct Marketing Association has also pushed for a "do-not- call" register, similar to the one that was set up in the US in late 2003.
