McCann Erickson calls in the renovators.

McCann World Group has appointed a new chief of its Australian operations. On 14 June 2005, Chris Mort, the former head of Singleton Ogilvy & Mather (SOM), took over as chairman and CEO. He will be responsible for reviving the fortunes of advertising agency McCann Erickson. The group is owned by US company, Interpublic Group. Its Australian businesses also include Weber Shandwick and Universal McCann. The position of MD at McCann Erickson has been abolished. Other former senior directors at SOM will join Mort at McCann.
