Tide turns for UK trade.

UK Trade & Investment has reported the number of Australian companies moving into the British market doubled to 42 in 2004. It was noted a substantial proportion of these investments were made by the Australian technology and service industries. Australian company Agent Orientated Software (AOS) formed a partnership with the Institute for Manufacturing at Cambridge University in 2004 before opening its own office. AOS has contracts with the British armed forces for software for unmanned aircraft, and with the Australian Defence Force for an unmanned underwater vehicle. Australian group Woodshed Technologies has moved into the British market to develop its technology to produce electricity from tidal power.
