Departure charges stay, for now.

Auckland International Airport is not adjusting its $NZ25 departure fee. There have been media reports that the fee will rise to $NZ30 from October 2005. However, the airport's management says the $NZ5 component of the charge that goes to the New Zealand Aviation Security Service and the Civil Aviation Authority will be paid by airlines from October. It will not reduce the departure fee as a result though, arguing that it needs the money for capital investments.
