Lonely tourists targeted.

The Northern Territory Tourist Commission has engaged Lonely Planet to produce a free backpacking guide to the Northern Territory. Managing director Maree Tetlow said 10,000 copies of the guide would be distributed throughout Europe in an effort to entice international backpackers away from Australia's east coast. She said tourist commissions in South Australia and Western Australia had joined in the project.
