South Australian Premier Mike Rann is working to secure Ion's continued contract with Harley Davidson. Ion's 670-worker North Plympton plant generates 75 of its income from the manufacture of Harley Davidson motorcycle components. Visiting the US in June 2005, Rann has been assuring Harley Davidson that the plant will continue to operate, despite the fact that Ion is under administration and other Ion workers are losing their jobs.
