Fish get too big for hybrid pool.
Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2005
Jun 21, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)
Australians wishing to increase their exposure to hybrid securities have several options. Some fund managers offer products that invest exclusively in hybrids. The Schroders Investment Management fund was launched in 2002, and has achieved a return of 9.3 per cent each year. The Challenger high-yield fund, which also invests in fixed- interest assets, has returned 10 per cent each year. There is not a great deal of variety in the hybrids market. In fact, only 47 hybrids are tracked on the Australian Stock Exchange. In order to achieve a greater degree of diversity, Credit Suisse Asset Management has released a new fund that also invests in overseas hybrid securities.
