Sydney tops the bill as Australia's dearest city.

Mercer Human Resource Consulting has completed a survey ranking the world's cities. Tokyo was ranked as the most expensive in the world, while Sydney achieved the title of Australia's most expensive city.Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide were also included in the list of the world's 100 dearest cities to live in. The ranking of Chinese cities dropped significantly, as the Chinese yuan is pegged to the US dollar. The survey identified Asuncion, in Paraguay, as the cheapest city.
