Photon limbers up for a possible role in TCG bid.

Australian marketing communications group, Photon, may make an offer for The Communications Group (TGC). According to reports on 20 July 2005, it has asked Goldman Sachs JBWere for advice on a possible capital raising. Meanwhile, Clemenger Communications has stated that it has no intention of making a bid for TGC. US-based Omnicom has indicated its interest but not everyone believes that it will follow through. Bids for TCG close on 1 August.
