News Corporation has moved to capitalise on the growth in internet advertising. The Australian media giant has acquired Intermix Media, which in turn is about to take over MySpace.com. Intermix owns websites related to gaming and entertainment, while MySpace.com is a well-known US dating website. MySpace.com will be a gold mine for advertisers, as users post detailed and personal information on their MySpace pages. The acquisition cost News Corporation $US580m, and will increase its online presence.
