Hopes ride on a change of Focus.

Australasian Business Intelligence, July, 2005

Jul 03, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)

Ford Australia sees the launch of a new Focus small car in early July 2005 as critical to the company. The small car segment is a growth one, but the Focus, which replaced Ford's Laser model in 2002, has not sold as well as Toyota's Corolla, Holden's Astra and Mazda's Mazda3. Ford will outlay $A8 million in promoting the Focus in the coming year to younger people as well as older white-collar workers, whose children are no longer living with them.
