Stopping the slaughter of innocent pedestrians.
Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2005

Aug 30, 2005 (New Scientist - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Cars should be made safer for pedestrians. However, car owners are unlikely to install
safety features unless compelled by law. Robert LaGuerra, of US technology consultancy ABI Research, says motorists are more likely to spend money on an audio system than on technology to save their own and other people's lives. In the European Union, cars will soon be required to have a bumper that absorbs some of the energy of impact from a pedestrian during an accident. Japan plans to introduce a similar law in 2007.
