Resources push market higher.

Aug 28, 2005 (Herald Sun - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian sharemarket posted solid gains on 26 August 2005, with the benchmark S&P/ASX

200 rising 28 points to 4,452.5. The broader All Ordinaries Index advanced 25.5 points to 4,419.1. Resources stocks led the market higher, with Rio Tinto up $A0.97 at $A51.42

and BHP Billiton rising $A0.70 to $A20.60. Technology One fell $A0.04 to $A0.595, while Babcock & Brown shares gained five per cent in value after its upbeat financial results.

Suncorp-Metway exceeded expectations with its full-year result, and the stock was marked up accordingly.
