Aug 23, 2005 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The shoddy environmental performance of many industrial companies in Yarraville has

sparked regulatory concern. Pollution from several companies with premises in the Melbourne suburb has affected the Maribyrnong

River and the surrounding environment. The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has issued pollution warnings, clean-up notices or fines to Mobil, Albright & Wilson and CSR Gyprock, and plans to audit the Orica site. The entire Whitehall Street precinct along the river has a bad reputation with

residents, and has become the subject of close EPA attention.
