French firm to offload boiler division.

Aug 15, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The diversified infrastructure conglomerate, Alstom Australia, has a French parent company. In Australasia it has power and

rail businesses. In May 2005 it completed the sale of its rail contracting business to United Group for $A300 million and it has further divestiture plans. Its industrial boiler arm needs to be sold due to an edict of the European Commission, which was also the reason it needed to sell its rail contracting business to United Group. Rothschild will undertake an evaluation of the boiler division ahead of its offloading in the second-half of 2006. Likely bidders
