ATO sets KPIs for CFOs.

Aug 12, 2005 (The Tax Specialist - ABIX via COMTEX) -- It seems that the Australian Taxation Office wants to transfer the responsibility for detection of taxation-related risk from the office to company directors. The Australian Tax Commissioner Michael Carmody repeatedly stressed that taxation management is the
responsibility of company directors. However, it seems that Carmody is wrong in focusing on underpayment of tax as the primary issue for tax risk management. Carmody forgets that tax risk management has different objectives that those outlined by him.
