Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2005
Aug 02, 2005 (Gold & Minerals Gazette - ABIX via COMTEX) -- It is believed that the China Banking Regulatory Commission will soon allow four commercial banks to sell gold bars. At the present time, buyers can only purchase gold- backed certificates from the Bank of China and the Industrial & Commercial Bank of
China. The move marks the last stage of China's plan to free up its gold market. China is the world's fourth-largest producer and consumer of gold.
