Telstra doesn't mind going bush, just as long as it pays.
Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2005
Byline: Alan Kohler
Aug 02, 2005 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Although the National Party and Telstra appear to be on different sides of the fence,
this is not so. Both want a share of the money that will come from the final sale of the Australian telecommunication giant. Telstra CEO, Sol Trujillo, has praised the National's plan for a fund for regional telecommunications as "creative thinking". On 2 August 2005 he expanded on Telstra's concerns about funding for the Universal Service Obligation, which Trujillo says is not sustainable. The question now is who will get the money and how it will be spent.
