Consumers demand wider choice.
Australasian Business Intelligence, September, 2005
Sep 29, 2005 (Inside Retailing - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Research has found that Australian consumers are most likely to revisit retailers that offer them more choice. Professor Harmen Oppewal from Monash University's Department of Marketing surveyed 741 people who bought cut flowers on a minimum once-a-month basis,
using a questionnaire and pictures of various flower selections. She found that respondents responded well to pictures with a larger assortment of flowers. According to Oppewal, a wider product range can increase store traffic, improve the retail experience and help boost sales.
