Sep 25, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) CEO, Ralph Norris, issued his first note to staff on 23 September 2005. He took up his
appointment the previous day, replacing David Murray, who headed the Australian bank for 13 years. In the note, Norris says he wants the bank to increase revenue at a faster rate
than the market. CBA is Australia's largest retail bank, but its deposits business is being challenged by the likes of BankWest and ING. CBA shares closed at $A38.10 on 23 September.
