Asian plays yet to pay off.

Sep 22, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Three big Australian law firms insist that their Asian ventures were a good idea. Mallesons Stephen Jaques and Minter Ellison

say their Australian partners were enthusiastic about opening Asian offices. Allens Arthur Robinson claims that its Asian operations' revenue is growing nicely, while Minter says 10 of its fiscal 2004-05 revenue came from Asian work. Critics from other firms say that it is much more economical to simply fly to Asia when work is there. They point out that Minter, Mallesons and Allens partners have been paid less recently.
