Politics intrudes on the net.

Australasian Business Intelligence, September, 2005

Byline: Mark Jones

Sep 15, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The head of Australia's internet governing body says there is no real debate about the use and importance of broadband networks.

Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers president and CEO, Paul Twomey, is disappointed that the recent debate about Telstra focussed on physical infrastructure and not how broadband services are utilised. Twomey said there has been little mention of how Telstra's network could improve

communication between people, and said politicians should stay out of internet governance issues.
