Sep 14, 2005 (Herald Sun - ABIX via COMTEX) -- There was mobile telephone penetration of 81 in Australia in 2004-05, with 16.2 million

subscribers. A report by Allen Consulting for the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association indicates penetration is expected to increase to around 18.98 million subscribers by the end of 2005-06, as people find it necessary to own more than one mobile telephone. Independent telecommunications

analyst, Paul Budde, commented that the industry is almost at capacity. He noted that around 10 to 15 of mobile telephones

are not being used.
