Australasian Business Intelligence, September, 2005
Sep 08, 2005 (The Mercury - ABIX via COMTEX) -- National Party of Australia senator, Barnaby Joyce, is reconsidering his support for the
full sale of Telstra. Joyce indicated that new information has made him reconsider his position. A new Telstra report has stated that the telco's network requires $A3bn in investment and the company has been using its cash reserves to issue dividends. Joyce is to meet with senior members of the Queensland branch of the National Party of Australia to
determine whether he should still vote in favour of legislation for the full sale of Telstra.
