China seeks air freight expansion.

Sep 11, 2005 (Aircraft & Aerospace Asia-Pacific - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Chinese Government is very keen to increase the size of its domestic air freighter fleet, according to Lu Jianheng.

He is a planning official with China's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAC). Lu said recently that a lack of air freighters was one of the factors retarding growth of the Chinese air

freight sector, along with a lack of pilots and poor infrastructure. The Chinese air cargo sector has grown by an average of 14.3

per cent over the past four years, according to CAAC figures. China has increased the number of overseas cargo agencies allowed to operate in the country from 178 in 2003...
