Sep 08, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Mercer Human Resource Consulting's David Knox has outlined proposals aimed at encouraging young Australians to save for their
retirement. The actuary's submission to the House of Representatives economics committee includes measures such as cutting the tax
rate on superannuation fund earnings from 15 per cent to 10 per cent. Knox also proposes to allow people under the age of 40 to withdraw up to 50 per cent of all personal
contributions to their super fund prior to their retirement.
