Sep 08, 2005 (The Weekly Times - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Environment Victoria has launched legal action against West Wimmera farmer John
Warner in the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal. Warner says he received permission from the Department of
Sustainability & Environment to harvest 697 red gums but Environment Victoria and Environmental Defenders Office (EDO) later challenged this decision. Warner claims the case has cost him $A20,000. He is frustrated by the fact that EDO is subsidised by the Victorian Government.
