Surveillance law trips up HR.
Australasian Business Intelligence, September, 2005
Sep 08, 2005 (Human Resources - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The New South Wales Workplace Surveillance Act 2005 is creating difficulties for human resource (HR) departments. Internet Industry Association chief executive Peter Coroneos said large organisations were beginning to comply with the act, but many small and medium sized enterprises were not. Cleartext managing director David Banes said poor communication between IT and HR departments
caused problems in determining if compliance was a technical or policy issue. This was compounded by budget limitations,
prioritisation of tasks and lack of management support.
