Locals safe in bank's cutbacks.

Sep 05, 2005 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- European-based banking and financial services group ABN-Amro has announced a downsizing of its IT services division. However, no job losses are expected in Australia. Some 1,500 full-time staff worldwide are affected, and just 1,800 out of a current pool of 5,000
will be kept in-house, with 2,000 outsourced positions. The providers are IBM, Infosys and Tata, along with Patni and Accenture. Tata has gained the contract to come up with
a new banking platform, which will cost $US15m to implement.
