Oct 31, 2005 (BRW - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Graeme Hart, the New Zealand entrepreneur behind food company Burns Philp, has extended
his offer for Carter Holt Harvey (CHH). Hart had previously acquired International Paper's 50.5 per cent in the paper, pulp and lumber company, and now is now seeking to purchase
its remaining shares. He had secured 68.6 per cent of CHH's shares as of 13 October 2005, on which date he announced he had extended his offer until 3 November 2005. Hart is yet to announce his plans for CHH, although observers suggest he might sell some of its packaging operations and some of its
forestry plantations.
