Investors soften to poison pill news.

Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2005

Oct 23, 2005 (The Daily Telegraph - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Rupert Murdoch has defended News Corporation's decision to continue "poison

pill" provisions for two years. Murdoch says he has received just one telephone call about the matter, despite a number of Australian and overseas investors launching legal action over the continuation of the anti-merger provision until 2007. News invoked the poison pill after Liberty Media purchased 18 of the company. Murdoch says talks with

Liberty are continuing. Four News Corporation executives, including president and COO Peter Chernin, were re-elected with

84 of the vote.
