Hilmer to head UNSW.

Oct 18, 2005 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Outgoing John Fairfax CEO, Fred Hilmer, will receive $A750,000 annually for his position
with the University of New South Wales. Hilmer, who has also been granted a $A4.5 million "golden handshake" from Fairfax, is preparing to make the move from the corporate sector to his new role as new vice-chancellor at the university. Hilmer has warned the Australian Government not to be "half- pregnant" with regards to university deregulation. Meanwhile, former Murdoch University vice-chancellor, Steven Schwartz,
has been appointed vice-chancellor at Macquarie University.
