Lion claims progress in Coopers bid.

Oct 10, 2005 (The Advertiser - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australasian beer and wine company, Lion Nathan, released its bidder's statement in the battle for Coopers Brewery on 10 October 2005. It says 11 shareholders in the Adelaide brewer have entered into pre-bid sale agreements. Lion is offering Coopers'
117 shareholders $A260 per share and says acceptances so far comprise 10.7 per cent of the tightly-held company. On 20 October, Coopers will ask its shareholders to strip
Lion of its pre-emptive right to buy shares in the company. Coopers will release its target's statement in about two weeks.
