Nov 27, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian investment banks keenly contested the contracts to manage the Australian Government's full privatisation of Telstra.

ABN Amro Rothschild, UBS and Goldman Sachs JBWere ultimately secured the lucrative contracts, after vying with five other

investment banks. It is estimated that bidders would have spent between $A1m and $A5m on their pitches to the Government.
