The issue at hand is the looming decision of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on wholesale network access
pricing. Telstra claims that it could lose $A800 million if the ACCC makes any changes, but in fact there are two figures - $A860 million, estimated by Telstra CFO John Stanhope and $A810 million, estimated by Telstra's Phil Burgess. The actual cost is nowhere near these numbers, and the methods
