Nov 08, 2005 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) has heard three cases in late 2005 related to taxation. Although the Australian Taxation Office Commissioner has been critical of some tax deductions, the AAT is more unpredictable in its treatment of deductions. Of the three recent tax cases heard by the AAT, one taxpayer won against significant odds, while the other two taxpayers fared poorly, with the tribunal supporting the findings of the Commissioner.
