Proposed laws breach international privacy rights.
Australasian Business Intelligence, November, 2005
Nov 07, 2005 (Privacy Alert - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Government's planned anti- terrorist laws are in breach of a number of
international privacy and human rights protocols. This is the view of three academics with expertise in international
laws, who are asked to study the proposed laws by Jon Stanhope, the Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory, who attracted a lot of publicity when he placed a copy of the draft bill on his web site. Two of the academics were from the Australian National University, while the third, Andrew
Byrnes, is from the University of New South Wales.
