Australasian Business Intelligence, November, 2005

Nov 02, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has posted a surplus of $A1.2m for 2004-05, following a loss of $A2m

previously. However, the FPA's member base fell to a five-year low of 12,230 after 1,535 financial planners elected to cancel their membership in 2004-05. These include Mark Edman, of Perth-based Concentric Financial Advice, who claims that the FPA is more concerned with the major banks and fund

managers than small, independent financial planning firms.
