Forties too old for IVF babies: AMA.

Dec 18, 2005 (The West Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Rosanna Capolingua, of the Western Australian branch of the Australian Medical Association,
wants a debate on in-vitro fertilization treatments for older women. New figures stemming from University of New South Wales research show the costs of IVF rise dramatically for those aged 40 years and over, with the average for under-30s $A24,809 and those over 42 years old $A182,794. Capolingua argues apart from the cost factor, there is also an emotional price to pay, due to the small success rate in older women.
