Think away your pain.

Australasian Business Intelligence, December, 2005

Dec 13, 2005 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- New research conducted by a team at Stanford University suggests that pain sufferers can potentially learn how to alter their pain perception. The research team exposed eight people suffering from chronic pain to live scans of their brains while they conducted

various mental exercises. While watching the scans, the patients undertook activities aimed at altering their brain activity. The findings indicated that people can learn how

to manipulate their brain activity, thereby making their perception of pain less intense.
