Coopers deal still brewing.

Dec 05, 2005 (Lawyers Weekly - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The board of Coopers Brewery turned down an increased takeover offer from Lion Nathan.
The directors noted that the revised offer was still conditional and did not respond to matters broached in the target statement. Piper Alderson is advising Coopers on the litigation aspects of the transaction, while Allens Arthur Robinson is advising on corporate issues. The increased takeover bid
followed the Federal Court of Australia's decision that Coopers' shareholders could vote to block the bid at an extraordinary
meeting. Lion Nathan is being advised by Mallesons Stephen Jacques.
