Chink in career confidence levels.

Dec 06, 2005 (Benchmarking HR - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Many Australians feel insecure about their jobs, and their pessimism is increasing,

according to research. Right Management Consultants regularly assesses workers' confidence levels in 18 countries, by asking them how likely it is that they will lose their jobs in the next year, and how easy it would be in current conditions for a retrenched worker to find a comparable job with the same wage. For November 2005, the Australian career confidence index stood at 54.9, compared to 56.6 six months earlier.

About 22 of Australians, and 14.6 of workers globally, felt that they may lose their jobs in the next year.
