Phone recycling efforts gets another go.

Dec 04, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian mobile telephone industry has been given one more chance to voluntarily run a recycling scheme. The New South Wales Government plans to introduce regulations enforcing the recycling of old mobile handsets if the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA) fails again. The Victorian Government and Environment Victoria believe that compulsory recycling may be required. As its past recycling campaign produced meagre results, AMTA has decided to launch a new campaign that will be widely publicised.
