Dec 01, 2005 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian public service consults with industry. The 2005 report of the Australian Public Service Commission reveals that
industry stakeholders were the main group that was usually consulted by agencies about the development of government policy, the delivery of programs and government regulation. Public service employee numbers rose from 131,396 to 133,596, with the largest increases in the Australian Taxation Office and the Department of Immigration. Women account for nearly 55 per cent of total staff and 33 per cent of senior executives.
