Austar has attempted to justify the fact that its subscriber base grew by just 46,046 in 2005, in contrast to 65,000 in 2004, by claiming that the strong anti-piracy measures

it introduced in 2004 had led to an influx of previously illegitimate pay TV users. Also, Austar predicts that it will indeed reach its target 30 market penetration. The stock
